Waye Trial Result

This Cuyahoga County case involves medical malpractice claims of negligence in the administration medical care, diagnosis, and treatment to a 67 years old female resulting in her death.  Specifically, Plaintiff alleges that the Defendants failed to perform a pre-operative medical / cardiac clearance prior to decedent’s cosmetic face lift.  According to Plaintiff, had Defendants performed said tests with decedent, she would have been referred for an EKG and stress test which would have shown the decedent’s underlining cardiac problem.

Plaintiff’s experts opined Defendants fell below the standard of care in their treatment of said female patient including failure to perform the pre-operative medical / cardiac clearance prior to the face lift procedure.  Defendants’ experts opined the Defendants did not fall below the standard of care in their treatment of the decedent.

The jury agreed with Defendants and returned a defense verdict.
