Matt is a litigator that plays to win. He focuses his practice on defending clients in lawsuits involving insurance defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, commercial malpractice, civil malpractice, legal malpractice, and general civil liability. Matt represents clients during all stages of litigation, whether it is before a lawsuit is filed, at trial, or on appeal.

Before joining Poling Law, Matt worked as an assistant prosecuting attorney where he litigated civil cases on behalf of government entities. As a prosecutor, Matt sat first chair at multiple trials and argued cases before various courts and administrative agencies. During law school, he clerked at law firms that represent plaintiffs in civil litigation, including personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability, product liability, constitutional rights, and consumer law.

Matt graduated among the top of his class with a cum laude distinction from Capital University Law School. He made the Dean’s List on multiple occasions and was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for receiving the highest grade in Criminal Procedure. Further, Matt received the Dean’s Excellence Award for his academic achievements. In addition, Matt received Pro Bono Legal Honors for his commitment to serving the community during law school.

Matt continues to serve the community by coaching a mock trial team in Columbus.
